A monoprint is an original piece of art resulting from a single run on a press. A series of similar monoprints can be part of the run, but each one will have colors, textures and artistic elements that make it distinctly different than the others in the series.
A collagraph is created by attaching or sealing various shapes, textures and materials to a rigid surface, forming a plate. The plate is then inked and the resulting image is transferred to printmaking stock either via a press or by rubbing the two surfaces together.
