Terry McCauley was born and raised in Villa Park, Illinois.
He was encouraged at an early age to pursue his passion for art. Terry earned a BFA in Social Work from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, later earning a BFA at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), majoring in Painting and Drawing.
Terry was mentored by renowned master artist and sculptor Paul Yank of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. While Terry's work initially followed traditional subject matter such as landscapes, still life, and figure drawing, his recent work reflects nature and botanicals, creating complex abstract pieces. As a master gardener, his love of plants is intrinsic to his art.
He has exhibited work at the Tory Folliard Gallery in Milwaukee where he lives, and participates in local and juried shows, many with his fellow printmakers.
